We survived another Pizza night with great success yesterday. Over the course of the evening we served pizzas to a hungry group of about 70 customers. I always find it interesting to see what the most popular pizzas are throughout an event, last night 40% were the Crab Meat with Tomato and Basil, 43% fennel sausage with wood roasted onion, and 17% smoked cheese. A good time was had by all! I did learn a valuable lesson, Crocs and hot embers don’t mix……..

Harvest 2009 should start next weekend. We will be picking Edelweiss at our vineyard and receiving both Edelweiss and Brianna from other growers. I will try to reproduce the Edelweiss that we had last year bringing out the earth tones and spice that were evident in last years vintage. The Brianna will produce a nice light bodied semi-sweet white.

Next posting I will try to get a picture posted, I realize that this called a “Photo-blog” and I have not posted any images…….. Should have some good processing and harvest pictures by next weekend.

…..and I said, “ok, I’ll give it a try” …. that lead me to this, the 5 Trails Photoblogs first entry. After sitting with with Jean for the better part of 2 hours geting trained on how to update and run this, I think that I am ready to give it a try (with a bottle of wine to split with my brother Steve).

Things seem to be gearing up for harvest 2009, the Edelweiss is getting close and the birds are getting hungry which means that it is getting time to get the net on. Everything is looking very good in the vineyard, we will have a good harvest barring any freak storms or the likes.
